You can start your walk from the hotel or take the car and changing the starting point of your route. The area where we are at so varied and full of alternatives that will allow you to enjoy our surroundings and take a ride you will not forget .
RISE TO SAN PEDRO DE ATXARRE
A highly recommended route because , besides being a spectacular ride in the countryside, it is so close to the hotel you will not need to take the car . You can choose the road from Akorda or begin the climb near the hotel and stroll through a beautiful trail through a forest that will surprise before reaching the pedegoso road that takes you to the chapel .
The effort to climb it will be rewarded by spectacular views of Urdaibai , the nearby towns such as Bermeo and Mundaka or a beautiful view of the hotel , the island and the sea Ízaro background as you see in the picture.
WALK IN “OMA FOREST”
A route that you can not miss when you come to Gametxo . For this visit will have to take the car but worth it. At about 15 minutes from the hotel you will reach the parking lot and begin a spectacular rise of 4 km in the forest .
When you reach the forest you have the feeling of being in a magical place. In this work, the artist Agustin Ibarrola painted different elements of the forest, with the purpose of creating a magical place where the work of the ancestral Palaeolithic artists with the modern trend of land art , an artistic current that works directly bind on the natural environment.
VISIT SAN JUAN DE GAZTELUGATXE
In an environment that will leave you amazed , after a walk through a forest overlooking the sea , cliffs and mountains come to the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.
A visit that you can not miss and, after climbing the 220 steps that take you to the top , understand why is the second most visited Euskadi after the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
From the top of the chapel , after touching the bell 3 times as tradition dictates , will have a panoramic view of the coast , the cliffs , the Cantabrian Sea and Cape Matxitxako that will leave an image in your memory you will never forget .
